Debbie Gibson strongly established herself as a popular singer during the latter half of the 1980s. In the years that followed the new generation of artists were able to take over the music business but Debbie Gibson remained in the music business and following her passion. Gibson was created on August 31, 1970, on Long Island in New York City. Her ethnicity and zodiac sign are Italian/Sicilian German and a hint of Russian. She was the daughter of Diane Gibson as well as Joseph Gibson. She also has three older sisters. When she was young she took piano lessons with Morton Estrin. In 1983, she started her music career when she wrote a tune called I Come From America as well as submitting an audio recording to WOR's songwriting contest. Her mom then turned her garage to a recording studio after she won the contest. D.J. listened to the track she made available to radio stations from Only in My Dreams, another of her songs.
