
Pichai Sundararajan, better known as Sundar Picha is an Indian-American business executive. He is one of the chief executive officers (CEOs) of Alphabet Inc., its subsidiary Google, and was born in Madurai in India.[4] Pichai received his diploma in metallurgical engineering from IIT Kharagpur. In the United States, he attained an M.S. from Stanford University in materials science and engineering . He also earned an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and was named a Siebel Scholar and a Palmer Scholar, respectively.Pchai began his career as a material engineer. Following a brief stint at McKinsey and Co. as a management consultant, Pichai was recruited by Google in 2004 as the head of the management of product and innovation for several of Google's client products. These comprised ChromeOS as well as ChromeOS. He also led Google Drive. He also managed the development of Google Maps and Gmail. In the year 2010, Pichai also announced the open-sourcing of the new video codec VP8 created by Google and introduced the new format for video, WebM. In 2012 the Chromebook was introduced. Pichai further added Android to the Google products that he managed in 2013.
