
Rosie Perez was born Rosa Maria Perez September 6, 1964. She is an American actress. Her first role in the role of Tina in Do the Right Thing (1989) was followed by White Men Can't jump (1992). Perez was nominated for the Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Fearless (1993). Perez has appeared in a number of films since the time which include It Could Happen to You (1994), The Road to El Dorado ((2000), Pineapple Express (2008) and Birds of Prey (2021). She was nominated for three Primetime Emmy Award nominations, one for In Living Color (1990-1994) as well as another nomination for her character in The Flight Attendant (2020-2021). She has appeared in Broadway stage plays like The Ritz and Frankie, Johnny in the Clair de Lune and Fish in the Dark. In the 18th season of the show, she was also a cohost on ABC's talk show The View. She was a student at Grover Cleveland High School, in the Ridgewood neighborhood of Queens. By 1999 her mother lived in poverty at the Woodside Houses, when she died of AIDS-related complications
